![]() ![]() ![]() Pretty soon people were asking, Hey, can it do X or Y or Z? And that's how I found out that there's a market for premium plugins where you add more features. So I thought myself PHP and the inner workings of WordPress, and that's kind of how it started. And so I started to learn PHP because I came from a different background, but if you're a programmer, it's not too difficult to switch languages. I quickly found out that there's a whole ecosystem of sellers doing their thing, making awesome products. I tell the way that I want to and general the chance to travel.Īnd then I stumbled upon WordPress and the plugin and teams ecosystem, and I started to look into it and what people were doing. So I started to dig in a little further to be completely free, a kind of organism. How can I keep doing this without having other stuff get in the way? And then very quickly I started freelance here, but then clients are nice, but you still have deadlines and you still have to answer a lot of emails, take calls and all that sort of stuff. We traveled for a year and I enjoyed it so much to have that freedom that I started to think about shaping my life around travel. And then it was a fairly unique story, but I think now with all the Indy hackers around, it's not so unique anymore. My journey started in 2016 when I left my varied comfortable job in Belgium to go traveling to Australia for a year. But before we get into some of the meat of that, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself and how Studio Wombat got started?
